Overview

Bekal

A little town named Bekal is located in the Kasaragod district on Kerala’s western coast. There are a number of attractions in the vicinity, including the enormous Bekal Fort, fashioned like a keyhole, the golden swath of a lovely beach that surrounds the fort, backwaters and hill destinations, and the close-by water activity facilities. This is where the Mani Ratnam film “Bombay”‘s song “Uyire” was filmed. Beautiful Kasaragod is situated at Kerala’s most northern point. The largest and best-preserved fort in all of Kerala is located on the National Highway 16 km south of the town and is surrounded by a beautiful beach. The old Bekal Fort, shaped like a huge keyhole, provides an excellent perspective of the Arabian Sea from its lofty observation towers, which were once armed with massive guns.[2] A plan to launch seaplane services connecting Bekal with the well-known Paravur backwaters, Kollam Ashtamudi, Kumarakom, and Punnamada is being reviewed by the state of Kerala.

Wayanad

On November 1, 1980, Wayanad, in Kerala’s northeast, was created as the state’s 12th district by separating portions of Kozhikode and Kannur. In the oldest documents, the area was referred to as Mayakshetra, then Mayanad, and eventually Wayanad. According to the word’s folk etymology, the phrase “The Land of Paddy Fields” was created by combining the words vayal and naad. Due to its location high in the magnificent Western Ghats, it is home to numerous native tribal groups. Wayanad is well connected by road to different regions of Kerala, while Kozhikode, which is 75 kilometres from Kalpetta, has the closest railway station.

Calicut

Kozhikode, sometimes referred to as Calicut, is a city in the Kerala state of southern India. It is the administrative center for the Kozhikode district and the third-largest city in Kerala. A rich and distinguished history of dazzling trade, heartbreaking invasions, and liberation fights can be found in Kozhikode. It was known as the “City of Spices” because it served as the main eastern spice trading hub during the Middle Ages and arguably much earlier, during Classical antiquity[1]. Kozhikode was formerly the capital of the same-named independent kingdom and later of the former Malabar District.

Nileshwar

Nileshwaram, also known as Nileshwar, is a municipality and a significant town in Kerala, India’s Kasaragod District. It is one of the Kasaragod district’s three municipalities, along with Kasaragod and Kanhangad. E. M. S. Namboodiripad, the first chief minister of Kerala, was chosen from Nileshwaram. One of the biggest cities in the Kasaragod district is Nileshwar.
